Waiting for home!
Daniel and I did our first "room in" experience in Pod A last night. Of course, Daniel slept through the night, while I stayed up to tend to Joey. I literally got up every other hour to suction that boy because of his secretions. It was not restful sleep. I don't think any new parents of infants experience restful sleep though. Other than that, the evening was uneventful. I know I'm going to miss my sleep when we go home, and I will have a new "normal." I'm looking forward to being home though and for Joey to see his extended family again. I know they all miss him.
I'm spending the night alone without Daniel this evening, but I felt like I did that last night when Daniel slept through all the hub bub of the night. Joey stayed up until this afternoon, and I told him we were both going to take a nap around 2 PM, which we did. It's 7 PM, and that boy is still asleep!
We received his results from his CT scan of his lungs, and the findings were not that surprising, which I think is not a bad thing. I am planning on getting a full translation from pulmonology at some point soon.
So far, we are waiting on night nursing to be fully staffed so we can head home, but I don't know how long that will take. I'm praying that this will happen soon and that God will bring the right people into our lives regarding his home health nursing. I really hate leaving my baby boy at the hospital every evening until then. It really pulls on my mother's heart strings. I also hear that babies do so much better and thrive more when they are at home.
