Trust Nothing

Living this NICU life for almost 7 months now has taught me one thing that another fellow NICU parent summed up for me, "Trust Nothing."  I completely understand what she means.  I have to admit, I've lived this roller coaster for a while now, that sometimes I feel like I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. A lot of people have asked me when do we ever make it out of the danger zone? Honestly, you don't ever make it out of the danger zone.  When you think you're doing well for a while, something can ALWAYS happen to throw you back to square 1 or square 2.  Having a special needs kid and a child in the NICU, you live day to day, and you learn to appreciate each day that you are blessed with. You seek God, praise God, and you thank God every day and all day-this is how you win the spiritual and mental battle that you face in the NICU.  This is how we will overcome this Coronavirus mess.  We will trust nothing, because we have no idea what tomorrow will bring.  We do know that we can trust our Heavenly Father to provide us with our daily manna.  I listened to a sermon today where a pastor in another country talked about all these miracles he had seen, and the question was brought up as to why we didn't see these type of miracles in our country.  He said that prayer in our country was a last resort, but in his country prayer was the first resort.

In this season of life, there is so much uncertainty, as there has been in Joey's life. I challenge you to use prayer as a first resort. Today Daniel and I spent some time praying for our very special friends that we know who are doctors and nurses.  Pray that God gives our doctors wisdom to find a solution and to surround our medical professionals with peace and protection as they work hard to protect us.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
Joey says if I can wear my mask, so can you!

My nurse said I couldn’t watch Tiger King-she said to read instead!

Masks have been a part of our lives forever!
