Happy 6 months, Joey!

Today Joey stayed on his vapotherm flow of 3 and he appeared to be doing well. This morning Daniel said there was a point where he was hovering in the 80s and the nurse kept increasing his oxygen, but it kept doing nothing.  She switched the pulse ox and he starting saturating better, or maybe his pulse ox started to pick up. The vent to the air conditioning was also opened so Joey was no longer sweaty in his room-no more sweaty head. The sweat he has been experiencing for the past 3 days could be related to the fact that the air conditioning was not working instead of respiratory distress. He looked pretty comfortable today.  Yesterday we had a scary moment where he pulled out his nasal cannula and he could not climb back up and we had to increase his oxygen to 95 percent.  Once his nurse switched his pulse ox, things seemed to look better. He pulled it out again, and he climbed right back up. I know there was some concern about him not recovering as quickly, but 5 minutes later he did the same thing, and he climbed back up.  I don't know what that was all about, but it was scary.

Joey is also 6 months today!  He played his heart out for 4 or 5 hours, just rolling in his bed and swatting at his octopus. It was so adorable.

When he woke up, dad and I took turns holding him, and we just had a good old time together.
