Today Joey is almost 7 and a half pounds. That boy is growing! Daniel is still sick, and I’m on may way there with this coughing and snot that just started up. I have had to limit my time and physical contact with Joey because he is still working on his respiratory issues. We can’t have any set backs-God willing.
Some medical facts about Joey discussed is rounds-He is 3395 grams (he has grown so much since his heart repair). He was weaned to 450 CCs for his flow and handling it beautifully. He had his pentacil yesterday (first DTAP shot of the series) His AFP was 38.5, a number which was lower than his December draw. We are examining the trend to follow if he has tumors on his liver since this is sometimes common with Trisomy 18 babies. Having a lower number is good in this instance. His hip ultrasound came back down. They were unable to perform an abdominal ultrasound due to the broviac, but will plan on doing that closer to discharge.
Joey’s gtube surgery and hernia repaired is scheduled for tomorrow and I am nervous. This is one step closer to going home!
