Joey is 1!

Let me just get straight to the point-Joey is 1 today!  Looking back  a whole year  at where we were, who  knew this day would arrive.  My heart  is  filled  with gratitude  with  where God has  brought us and  how He has carried us  through  the  roller  coaster.  Joey's journey has taught me so much about  strength  and resilience  and to appreciate  each  and  every day as  a blessing.  Yes,  I know there  will  be  more  hard days ahead as with anything and  anybody, but  today we celebrate and we rely on God for each and every moment, not with what we think we can  control of the  future.

Joey is enjoying his life at  home.  He  is filled  with  smiles and laughter, and all  the attention  that he receives  from  us  minute  by minute, hour  by hour.  He   has  several appointments  with OT, PT, and  speech.  He  still  can't sit  on his  own and  is  working on  his head  strength still, but his OT  was impressed with how  well he did with his  appointment  today.   She said he  is  getting stronger.    We  do  force him to do a lot of things  so  that  he can get  stronger. It's the  Asian  way-we like to push, push, and push  until we  get better. Ha.

Some observations about his  growth, he has  grown an old man  belly. He used to  be so  skinny- but he's  got the belly and  the cheeks these days.   He also needs a haircut,  and we think he is cutting  3 more teeth.  He loves his  toys and enjoys  looking at himself  in the  mirror often.  That  vanity will  never go away. :) He has improved  so much with grabbing his  toys.

Today he is having a  1  year  old puppy  photo  shoot.  What this  means is we've  got some puppies coming  over and a photographer friend that is going to  photograph Joey with some fun puppies.
I cannot wait.

I will have  to post some photos later.

"And the Lord responded: 'Look,  I am making  a  covenant. I will  perform  wonders in  the presence  of  all your people that have never  been  done in the whole  earth or any nation.  All  the people you live among will see the  Lord's work,  for what  I am doing  with you is awe-inspiring."
Exodus  34:10
