Preparing for Home
We are getting closer to going home! Daniel and I have been practicing putting on the bipap mask, and boy has it been intimidating. The giraffe mask was okay, but we felt like the mini me in extra small was a better fit for Joey. Joey still has a hard time adjusting to it when we first put it on, which is kind of scary to me, because he loses his saturation for a little bit until he settles out. Settling out for him means that he has to fall asleep. He did desaturate some into the 80s yesterday out of nowhere, but we just had to suction him out to get his boogers out. We have been working on getting his nursery together too. It's slowly starting to come together and Daniel has done a good job with getting his furniture put together and anchored to the wall. We moved our dining room table to our kitchen and it's almost as if we have a new house. I'm scared to bring Joey home, but I am very ready to be together as a family again. I'm ready for Joey to be integrated into our family, and I'm ready for Joey to know Rowan and Claire. I think Joey is going to have a good and fun life with us.
